Welcome To The Practice

Ashfield Surgery is the oldest established family practice in Bridgend. The present generation of doctors endeavour to maintain the high standard of care for which the surgery is renowned.

The present premises were built in 1990, adjacent to the original surgery, on the retirement of Dr Peter and Dr Margaret Williams. These provide purpose-built facilities commensurate with the demands of a modern clinical practice in the 21st century. Many of the patients from 1948 remain under our care, often with their children, grandchildren - even great grandchildren!

Welsh GP Record

The Welsh GP Record will be available for elective (scheduled) care in addition to
emergency (unscheduled) care.

This means that for the first time a copy of a patient’s GP record will be
available for:

  • All inpatient hospital clinical teams involved in the direct care of the patient.
  • Secondary care pharmacy technicians involved in the direct care of the patient.
  • Clinical teams involved in the direct care of the patient in an outpatient setting
